How To Pick The Right Beauty Case For You By Amanda Cummerford

How To Pick The Right Beauty Case For You By Amanda Cummerford

POV: your current beauty case is old, stained, and dirty, too small or doesn’t store all the products you want it to. It’s time to buy a new case. But with so many on the market, which one do you choose?

You: are a makeup beginner. You don’t own a huge amount of makeup and you’re not fussed about buying every new product launch. You allocate 10 minutes or less to your makeup on a regular day. You have a group of makeup that you love and use all the time and you want a flexible bag you can just throw everything in. Your dream bag would be stylish, yet durable and functional, with little compartments inside and zips on the outside to help you find your go-to favourites easily.

Your match: Jet Setter Travel Case $70

https://www.etoilecollective.com.au/products/jet-setter-travel-case-nude

A soft, flexible store-it-all case. Folds down for easy access to your products with 2 exterior side pockets and a carry handle on either side.

This is the one I would gift to most of my friends because I have seen the state of their current cases (lol). And although they just need something quick and easy for their everyday products because they aren’t makeup collectors like me, I would feel much better knowing they were using this instead of a something scattered in old eyeshadow they got as a gift with purchase five years ago. You can take the Jet Setter Travel Case with you everywhere!

This could fit: 1 primer, 2 foundations, 2 eyeshadow palettes, 2 single eyeshadows, 2 bronzers, 5 blushes, 3 highlighters, 2 concealers, 2 mascaras, 6 eye and lip pencils, 1 brow gel, 4 lip products, 1 setting spray

You: like pretty things and want a chic storage case to display on your vanity. You have lots of makeup products in many shapes and sizes, so you need flexible dividers and zips to store them. You want to be able to pick your case colour and monogram your initials onto it.

Your match: Duo Vanity Case $100

https://www.etoilecollective.com.au/products/duo-vanity-case-grey

A two-compartment structured vanity case with an in-built flexible divider insert. Includes a compact fold-out mirror.

This is my personal favourite. I mean, just look how much makeup I could fit in this case and how big the mirror is?! I love my Duo Vanity Case as a statement piece to leave at home.

Given its ability to hold so much, this one does take up quite a bit of room in your suitcase, so opt for this if you're someone who likes to pack all their beauty and even toiletries together. And due to the height of the case, it’s the perfect option if you have bottles of serums or foundations that you want to stand up to avoid any spillage.

This could fit: 3 primers, 4 foundations, 4 eyeshadow palettes, 4 single eyeshadows, 4 bronzers, 10 blushes, 3 highlighters, 2 concealers, 2 mascaras, 6 eye and lip pencils, 2 brow gels, 11 lip products, 1 setting spray

You: just want a case you can throw your products in and leave in your bathroom. It needs to be easy to clean and easy to find your products inside. Sometimes you might have makeup in here, sometimes skincare, whatever the case you just need something to hold your necessities. It needs to be cute yet sturdy.

Your match: Clear Makeup Travel Case $60

I have to say this case is amazing and fits even more product than you might expect. The zip compartment on the bottom easily lets you divide up any products you need to keep separate. I use it for eyeshadow palettes because they are big and get in the way in the main space of the case. You can also monogram this and because it’s clear it’s great to travel with and appropriate for your carry on luggage.

This could fit: 1 primer, 2 foundations, 2 eyeshadow palettes, 2 single eyeshadows, 2 bronzers, 5 blushes, 3 highlighters, 2 concealers, 2 mascaras, 6 eye and lip pencils, 1 brow gel, 4 lip products, 1 setting spray

You: have lots of makeup, and you need to store and transport makeup palettes and foundations which take up lots of room. You like to see what’s inside your case without digging through everything and making a mess. You like to have the ability to customise the dividers.

Your match: Large clear cosmetic divider case $90

The easiest way to stay organised on the go. Customisable, removable dividers to lay your collection, your way.

This is by far the widest and shallowest storage case, which I really enjoy because it makes it so easy to separate the products out into category dividers so you can see what you are working with. A fabulous option for the organised makeup lover in your life that likes to see their products at all times.

This could fit: 3 primers, 4 foundations, 4 eyeshadow palettes, 4 single eyeshadows, 4 bronzers, 10 blushes, 3 highlighters, 2 concealers, 2 mascaras, 6 eye and lip pencils, 2 brow gels, 11 lip products, 1 setting spray

You: are a professional makeup artist who has to travel with makeup products all the time.

Give your kit the ultimate treatment by travelling with ÉTOILE. Keep products safe, and organised.

This one is for a makeup professional. Made with a custom Etoile super-grip top handle and removable shoulder strap, the back band is made to slide onto suitcase handles. The mai zip compartment has removable dividers, the lid holds the brushes and the second compartment has another 4 zip pockets. This holds more than any of the other cases mentioned.

This could fit: so many products to make a full makeup artist kit and you can arrange it for however many products you need like 3 primers, 6 foundations, 10 eyeshadow palettes, 20 single eyeshadows, 4 bronzers, 10 blushes, 3 highlighters, 2 concealers, 2 mascaras, 6 eye and lip pencils, 2 brow gels, 11 lip products, 1 setting spray, and a makeup brush set.

I hope these reviews and photos help you to find your perfect beauty case!
